SNELLEN CHART
The Snellen chart is the chart we are all familiar with when you go for an eye test at the Opticians. It is used to determine the level of vision an individual has. Generally the second line up indicates 6/6 vision (or 20/20 vision) which is the accepted normal vision for someone standing 6 meters (or 20 feet) away from the chart. 6/12 (or 20/40) is the standard for driving.
If a result is expressed as 6/6 -1 this indicates all but one letter could be read from the 6/6 line. 6/6 +1 indicates all the 6/6 line and 1 letter from the line below could be read.
